The Killers leave guitarist

From contract music

Las Vegas rockers  The Killers arrived five hours late at Britain's Glastonbury Festival over the weekend (24-26JUN05) when they left their guitarist behind at a tourist attraction.

After flying into London's Heathrow airport, the band got straight onto a tour bus for the five-hour journey to the Somerset festival and stopped off at the famous megalithic ruin of Stonehenge in Wiltshire on the way.

Frontman BRANDON FLOWERS says, "We went to Stonehenge, which was the first time we'd been there. We've been here 14 times and we've never been to Stonehenge.

"Shortly afterwards we stopped at a gas station and we left DAVE, our frizzy-haired guitar player there.

"It set us back three hours. We actually drove a whole hour without him and eventually he got hold of us. So we went back an hour. It was a big ordeal.

"I was watching CADDYSHACK so I didn't notice he wasn't there. He seemed to get through it OK. He usually throws fits, but he did all right."Despite their tardy arrival, the band were on time for their scheduled performance.

Killers' new tunes

From  Radio 1 news
The Killers turned in the first classic performance of the Glastonbury weekend, playing the Pyramid stage on Friday.

Just beforehand, singer Brandon Flowers told us he was looking forward to trying out some new tunes:

"We've got some new songs and it's hopefully going to be bigger and better. And we just wanna grow."

"We're playing one tonight called 'All The Pretty Faces'. My favourite is called 'For Reasons Unknown'. It's like 'Smile Like You Mean It' on steroids.
